Episode: Parents' Reach Veratia Small Town
The postman was slowly driving
his horse along the small-town road. After going some distance, the parents of
his sir's who were accompanying him became tired. They could no longer sit on
the horse. After this situation, the postman said to Asem Shariat's father,
"I am hiring a horse-drawn carriage from the nearby village, sir. However,
I will need someone to go with me to hire the carriage." Sham said, “I am
ready to go with you.”
Asem Shariat’s father said, “That
is good. Kanchan should stay with us, and Sham should go with the postman.”
In a while, Sham and the postman
set off to get the horse-drawn carriage. They were harassed while searching for
a horse-drawn carriage. Finally, they found a horse-drawn carriage. It was such
a day that it was difficult to rent a horse-drawn carriage. Because it was a
Sunday. On this day, the English gentlemen, some of them went to religious
places of worship, some of them went out for a walk in horse-drawn carriages.
By the time they returned with their horse-drawn carriages, it was already
afternoon. Kanchan said, “The place is not very convenient. Robberies happen
here at night. So we should leave the place quickly.” Sham also agreed. They
had left the place before evening. Asem and Rafiq’s parents were sitting inside
the car. The postman was going ahead of the car, and Kanchan and Sham were
going behind the car. This time, a small convoy was running very fast in the
silent night. Their destination was Veratia small town. Finally, in the last
hours of the night, this small convoy reached their destination.
Episode: Parents arrive at the inn
As soon as the postman reached
the small town, he called the night watchmen of the inn. When the night watchmen
arrived at the postman's call, he told them, "Sir's parents and two
nephews have arrived in this carriage. Take them inside. Make sure they are
clean. And arrange for food. And I will go to pay the cost of the carriage.
The driver of the horse car will also rest here." Night watchman: “Okay,
sir. We will not neglect their care. And send the driver too. We are arranging
food.”
After talking to the postman,
they took Asem and Rafiq’s parents and Asem’s two nephews inside the inn. Sham
and Kanchan were surprised to see such a beautiful inn. The night watchmen gave
them water to cleanse themselves and went to bring food. Finally, when they
finished eating, the call to prayer for dawn had made. Since the guests were
tired, the postman requested them to rest at the inn.
Meanwhile, news came that the
postmen's masters, Asem and Rafiq, had gone to the mosque after preparing for
the morning prayers. As soon as the postman heard the news, he rushed to the
mosque. As soon as the prayers were over, he confronted his masters.
Asem: "When did you
come?"
Postman: “Sir, I returned at late
night.”
Rafiq: “Everything was fine with
you.”
Postman: “Yes, sir.”
Asem: “Where are our parents?”
Postman: “They are resting at the
inn.”
Rafiq: “Who else came with you?”
Postman: “Asem Sahib’s two
nephews are Kanchan and Sham.”
Thus, ending the conversation,
Asem and Rafiq presented some gold coins to the postman of their postal
department. And, the postman left the place happily.
Saying goodbye to the postman,
they set off to meet their parents. As they entered the inn, the guards greeted
them and said, “We have made all the necessary arrangements for your parents.
They are inside.”
Asem: “Are they asleep?”
Guard: “If you give me
permission, I can go and see.”
Rafiq: “Okay, go and see. But don’t
disturb them if they are sleeping.”
The guards quickly ran and found
that their master’s parents and two nephews were sleeping. So, Asem and Rafiq
decided to finish their work by noon and return to the inn.
Episode: Meeting with Parents
Asem and Rafiq set their minds to
work as soon as they returned from the inn. They decided to finish all the work
before the noon prayers. They finished all the work by noon. After finishing
their work, they sat on their horses. The two horses were slowly walking side
by side.
Asem: “Rafik, it’s getting late.”
Rafik: “There’s still some time
left for the afternoon prayer.”
Asem: “I guess I understand, but
wouldn’t it be better to go and pray at the beginning!”
Rafiq: "Yes, that's right, I
didn't even think about it. Behind all this splendor and glory of ours is the
grace of God. Otherwise, how could these two village boys be among the richest
people in the small town?"
Asem: "It's all the grace of
God. Now ride your horse quickly."
They rode their horses quickly
and came to the mosque. They tied up the horses and finished their prayers and
came out.
Asem got on his horse and said to
Rafiq, “Finally, I think we are going to meet our parents.”
Rafiq: “If God wills, it will
happen!”
Asem: “You are right, it is all
God’s grace. Now let’s set off.”
Now the two friends set off for
the inn. The horses were running very fast. Every stroke of the horse's hoof
made their minds restless, wondering when they would meet their parents.
Finally, they reached the inn.
Asem said to the guard: “Take the
horses to the stable. And arrange for food.”
Guard: “Okay, sir.”
Sending the horses with the
guard, the two friends went inside. As soon as they entered, they kissed their
parents on the foreheads. Asem and Rafiq patted Sham and Kanchan's backs and
heads. Then lunch began. Their lunch consisted of kebabs, meat curries and
various kinds of fish, yogurt, sweets, matha, and pola. There were many
stories. The emotion of that moment was a heavenly feeling in the lives of the
two friends.
At that moment, Morol Mashai's
messenger arrived.
Messenger: "Morol Mashai has
summoned two people named Asem and Rafiq for urgent work. So, they have been
asked to go tomorrow. Take this letter. Give it to them."
Inn guard: “Give it to me. I’ll
give it to my masters.”
Finally, the letter reached Asem
and Rafiq. They were both happy and scared. It would have been better to be
sure what he had messaged. However, for now, their main task was to spend time
with their family, regardless of that.
