Brother 'Keru' (pseudonym)
Day 3:
It was August 24, 2025, the 3rd
day of my trip as usual. Today, my brother Maroon
(pseudonym) had said he would take me to see a few spots. Of course, I was not
aware of those things. I understood from my brother that he would take me to
the museum and the children's park. Although I had a little idea about
children's parks, I had no idea about museums. That's why I was wondering what
a museum is and what a children's park in Dhaka looks like! I was thinking and
thinking. But I couldn't understand anything. Anyway, I woke up at the time of
morning prayers at the call of my brother. He was preparing breakfast after
morning prayers. Meanwhile, my father and uncle were getting ready to take my
mother to the hospital again. My father and uncle were discussing the fact that
my mother had some treatment to do today. Yesterday my brother brought me
chocolate cake, pizza and some burgers. I memorized that food's names
completely while I was with my brother. Within a short while my brother brought
the pizza and burgers hot. We all took our breakfast together. Then, my great
aunt brought us coffee. We were drinking coffee and talking. We didn't realize
when the clock said it was 8:30 AM. But, my brother had set the alarm on the
clock. For which we all got a sense of the time on the clock. Finally, I and my
brother Maroon (pseudonym) set out for the trip at 9:25 am.
My first metro rail trip:
I was very excited to take my
first metro rail trip. I was very excited to board the metro rail. It was a
unique experience in my life. Me and my brother Maroon (pseudonym) left the
house and walked towards the Uttara metro rail station. We reached the station
within 4 minutes. When I got there, I saw a huge line of people waiting to
enter the station. I was made to stand in front and my brother stood behind me.
After about 25 minutes, we were able to enter. After buying tickets there, we
stood in front of the automatic doors to enter the metro. The station was
air-conditioned. There were also automatic escalators, elevators, toilets,
ticket counters, and ticket- punching machines. I didn't understand anything
that my brother told me about the ticket-punching machine. But I understood
and memorized the rest. After we stood for a while, the metro train arrived. We
got on the metro train, and it started moving. I didn't remember what the metro
said before it started inside metro. While the metro was running, I was looking
at the tall buildings of Dhaka in amazement. And I was waving my arms and
making a boom boom sound in my mouth. Some passengers sitting next to me were
patting and caressing my head. Suddenly, a little girl next to me made a
sarcastic comment about me. She said to me, "Hey kid, why is your head
bald?" I felt ashamed and ran to my brother's lap with my hands over my
mouth. Some passengers in the compartment smiled a little at this incident. A
minute later, we reached Agargaon. Finally, I came out of the metro holding my
brother's hand. Although I enjoyed all experiences of the metro rail trip, but
I did not like the talking of my head's bald story. Then, it was time to go to
the museum.
National Science and Technology Museum Visit:
We took a rickshaw to go to the
National Science and Technology Museum in Agargaon. After a 15-minute journey,
we reached the National Science and Technology Museum. We bought tickets and
went inside. The interior beauty of this museum fascinated me. As soon as I
entered, I saw many things. Overwhelmed by my questions, brother was answering
everything one by one. He was telling me, "Keru (pseudonym), the animal
you are looking at is a dinosaur. And, next to the dinosaur is the solar park,
where there is a replica of our Earth also. And under the canopy next to it are
some old warplanes." Then he said, "The ship you see there is a
replica of the Titanic ship in the UK." He gave a brief description of the
museum and took me inside. The interior was very grand. The first thing I saw
as I entered was the luggage counter and the cars. Also, I saw various things.
The names of which I don't know. My brother Maroon (pseudonym) told me that it
was a bulletproof car from the German car manufacturer Mercedes. He also told
me the names of other things. But I had confused everything and made a mess.
For which he laughed at that time. I was embarrassed and decided to ask the
names of things, but later I would not go into pronouncing them. Because my
poor pronunciation in front of so many people was embarrassing me. I might be
small, but I had also dignity. So, this decision was taken on my part to save my
dignity. Then I entered the physics gallery with my brother. My brother showed
me five iron balls tied with ropes. I didn't understand what he was telling me
at the time. I was embarrassed to pronounce it incorrectly again. But, after
some time, when my brother explained it, I understood the mass concept. Then I
saw the reflection of small lights in a glass box, and I tried to count them.
But I couldn't. Then I saw the reflection in the mirror. There too I saw
countless reflections. I told my brother, “I can count up to a hundred. But
why can’t I count the reflections here?” Later my brother said, “It’s infinite.
You can’t finish counting.” Then when my brother explained everything, I
understood everything. Then we went to the Industrial Technology Gallery. There
were replicas of machines from various industries. Then we went to the
Information Technology Gallery. There were different types of computers and
various information technology machines. Then we went to the Space Science
Gallery. This was where I had a lot of fun. We didn't realize when 12:00 pm had
struck. It was time for our 4D movie. We went inside for 10 minutes. After watching the movie, my brother told me, “This is
called virtual reality.” Then we went to the fun science gallery. It was the
most fun there. I learned a lot of new things here and it was a lot of fun. Then
we left here at 12:50 PM.
Return home:
We entered the mosque and left at
1:40 PM after finishing the noon prayer. After leaving there, we took a
rickshaw back to the metro rail station. From here we left for home. Although
we had planned to see a lot that day, we couldn't see anything except a museum.
Because I was very tired. When we arrived, there wasn't much crowd in the
metro. So, we returned home very easily. My brother said," There is no
alternative without metro rail to travel in Dhaka city for speedy
transfer." However, I did not let any more gossip happen on the way. This
time I imitated my brother and sat smartly.
Thus, the third day of the trip
of little brother Keru (pseudonym) and his brother Maroon (pseudonym) ended. Traveling
may tire our bodies, but it energizes our minds. And it makes the restless soul
satisfied. However, little friends, this is the end of it for today. Once
again, I will write to you about Keru's (pseudonym) new travel story. However,
goodbye little friends.
